The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has a variety of benefit programs designed to help Canadians throughout the year. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits, who qualifies, and how much you might receive in 2025.
What: A quarterly, tax-free payment designed to help individuals and families with low or modest incomes recover some of the GST or HST they’ve paid.
Who: Canadians 19+ (or younger if married or parenting), with income thresholds between $54,704 and $72,244.
Amount: Up to $519 for singles, $680 for couples, and $179 per child.
Payment Dates: Jan 3, Apr 4, July 4, Oct 3.
What: A refundable tax credit to support low-income workers, with advance payments available to ease financial strain throughout the year.
Who: Canadians 19+ earning below provincial thresholds ($23,000–$70,000).
Amount: Up to $1,590 for singles, $2,739 for families, and $821 for the disability supplement.
