🏆🏒Nick Cousins, Lord Stanley, CAA Arena, Aug 20
Hockey fans in the Bay of Quinte, the wait is almost over. The one and only Stanley Cup is set to make its return to Belleville, this time with a new Bellevillian - Nick Cousins. Cousins will be bringing the cup to the CAA Arena lobby on August 20th, aiming to begin the event for 12:30pm. The 2024 NHL playoff champ will have photos autographed by Nick himself, and picture opportunities (limit of 1 picture per family, there will be no signing autographs other than the pre signed pictures). This event will be open to the public, so please ensure you get there early and are in line by 10:30 am, as Cousins and Lord Stanley will be departing at 2:30pm. Stay tuned to your local news/BoQ Buzz for further updates. Read below for ALL of the details.
NEED TO KNOW DETAILS
Fans can begin lining up at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 in the lobby outside of Mackay Insurance Arena at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre. (265 Cannifton Rd.)
When you are near the front of the line, have your phone/camera ready to pass to the photographer, who will take a posed picture.
Due to time restrictions, NO autographs can be signed. A limited number of pre-autographed photographs will be available (one per group). Please DO NOT bring items to be signed.
Due to the hard two-hour time limit, the lineup will have to be cut at 2:00 p.m. (Your understanding is appreciated.)
Get there early to grab a parking spot, or carpool, as the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre will be operating as normal, with a full slate of bookings.
If someone with physical limitations requires a place to sit while waiting, chairs will be provided by city staff.
Both the Cannifton Road entrance and the east entrance near the pool will be open to enter.

🐂 A Four Hoofed-Houdini in Belleville
A Belleville Bull on the loose? No, not an OHL player. A real-life bull. This black-and-white steer escaped its enclosure in mid-July. It’s important to note that the steer is “not particularly friendly,” so it’s best to keep your distance. City of Belleville staff are working on a plan to safely capture the steer. If you see it, please contact the City of Belleville’s Transportation Operations Services at 613-967-3275. This number is monitored after-hours as well. For any immediate concerns, call 911 and police will respond. Stay safe and steer clear!

Business Spotlight
🤠🍺 Hank’s Lonesome - Downtown Picton
This one just makes sense. The newest, and only, tavern in downtown Picton. From the crew at Darlings, Hank’s Lonesome is the second location from Jesse Fader and Duncan MacNeill. So, you know it’s going to be a stellar spot. From what we have seen on the Hank’s Lonesome Instagram profile, the food looks amazing with a some classics like fish’n’chips, fried chicken, and a double cheeseburger. According to the Darlings Facebook page, it’s walk-ins only at this time.
Please check out their official Instagram’s/Facebook (@hanks.lonesome @darlings.pec) for more info.

Starting this September, big changes are coming to schools in Hastings and Prince Edward counties! As part of a “back-to-basics” plan, the province has updated its rules to restrict cell phone use during instructional time and ban vaping and smoking products on school grounds. Students can only use mobile devices for learning when permitted by a teacher. The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is spreading the word to parents and guardians to ensure everyone is ready for the new school year.

@THEBOQBUZZ
Where were we Friday? We had a lot of let’s say… questionable answers… Nonetheless congratulations to @heatheraunt. We were at Small Scale Bakery. Yes, they make pizza, and yes, it is delicious. It’s a bit of a well-kept secret 🤐. An honourable mention to @_grayjoseph who tried a few times… better luck next time?

THANK YOU
