👍 Major Donation From Mackay Family for the New YMCA
The Mackay family has donated $125,000 to the new YMCA Centre for Life in Belleville, securing naming rights for the gymnasium. This contribution is part of the YMCA’s $9-million fundraising campaign to build a new facility in west-end Belleville. In a media release, Bruce Mackay expressed his desire to create a lasting legacy through this donation. Kudos to the Mackay family on this generous donation! More on that here.

🏗️ Belleville's New Warming Centre Location
Belleville's warming centre will move to the old grandstand building at 240 Bridge Street West for this winter only. Previously located at the old police station on Dundas Street East, the centre is relocating due to the decommissioning of the former site. The new location, beside the Quinte Curling Club, will open on December 1st. Next winter, the centre will move to The Bridge integrated services hub, currently under construction on Alhambra Square. 📚 St. Joe’s Set to Open in December
My old stompin’ grounds - sure didn’t have all these amenities back when I attended… After delays due to supply and contractor issues, the $22.6 million renovation of St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Belleville is nearing completion. The project, which began in March 2022, includes new student spaces, learning commons, and childcare facilities. Students, currently housed at Sir Winston Churchill Public School, are expected to move back by December 16, pending city approvals. More here.

🏘️ Public Invited to Review Housing Development Plans in Picton
Are you curious about what's happening at Base31? Owners and developers of Base31 near Picton are inviting the public to learn about their housing development plans, which include 244 single detached lots, 237 townhouse units, and apartment/condominium buildings.
