šŸš—šŸ“ø Belleville’s Speed Cameras might Fund Key Community Initiatives

Belleville’s speed cameras may fund The Bridge homelessness hub and the Doctor Recruitment Program. Mayor Neil Ellis proposes redirecting ASE program revenue to these initiatives, instead of a 1% tax increase in 2025. The ASE program, launched this year, has cameras on Sidney Street, Harder Drive, Victoria Ave, and College Street East, catching speeders. Mayor Ellis assures the cameras aren’t set for minor infractions and offers to pay tickets for those caught going 41-45 km/h over the limit. More here

Prince Edward County is on the hunt for passionate volunteers! Join the Transit Strategy Task Team, Krasyliv Friendship City Working Group, or Environmental Advisory Committee Communications Working Group. If you’re 16 or older and a resident, property owner, or business owner in the County, apply by September 13. Dive into community projects and make a difference! Rob McCracken won the Bay of Quinte Club Championship, securing a one-shot victory. Dawn Walsh claimed the Ladies title, while Dave Canning won the Senior Championship with a final shot chip-in. Congrats to you both on the win!
