Little athletes, start your sneakers—this beloved youth triathlon is back in Picton on June 8, 2025, after a pandemic pause. Open to ages 3 to 17, the County Kids of Steel Triathlon is now taking registrations and even offers free spots for qualifying families through The Children’s Foundation.

🌿 Belleville sets curbside yard waste pickup dates for spring
Belleville's annual curbside leaf and yard waste collection is happening from May 20 to 26, with specific pickup days based on your location. Residents are reminded to place their waste curbside by 7 a.m. on the designated days and to use yard-waste paper bags or cardboard containers—plastic bags won't be accepted.

The city has divided the collection into six zones, with pickups scheduled as follows:

  • May 20: Zone 1

  • May 21: Zone 4

  • May 22: Zone 2

  • May 23: Zone 3

  • May 26: Zones 5 and 6

If you can't wait for pickup, you can drop off your waste at the Leaf and Yard Waste Depot, open Monday to Saturday. For more details, check out Belleville's official site.

🚿 Heads up, Picton: watermain flushing starts May 5
Don’t be surprised if your tap water looks funky next week—hydrant maintenance and watermain flushing in parts of Picton is scheduled from May 5–9, between 6 am and 6 pm. Affected areas include Main Street West and all streets southwest from Ferguson to the traffic circle.
