Belleville’s beloved Scalliwag Toys is closing its doors for good at the end of January 2025. After 40 years of bringing joy to the community, the store’s lease at 302 Front St. is ending, and the owners have made the tough decision not to renew or relocate.

“It’s not an easy choice, but it’s the right one,” the owners shared in a heartfelt message. Running a small business has become increasingly challenging, with supply chain disruptions and an unsustainable economic model among the obstacles they’ve faced.

For decades, Scalliwag Toys has been more than just a store—it’s been a place where memories were made, games were played, and community was built.

Store Closing Updates

Here’s what you need to know about the final weeks:

• New Store Hours (Starting January 3, 2025):

  • Monday & Tuesday: Closed

  • Wednesday - Friday: 12 PM - 6 PM

  • Saturday: 11 AM - 5 PM

  • Sunday: 12 PM - 4 PM

• Sales: Starting January 3, everything is 40% off (exceptions include demo games, bulk Magic: The Gathering cards, and special orders).

• Gaming Events: Casual wargaming and Pokémon Sundays will continue until January 21.

• Terrain & Equipment: Wargame terrain is being sold off. Reach out if you’ve donated items and want them back.

• Refunds: No refunds, but exchanges may be possible.

• Sale: They’re offering a 40% off sale for the closing.
