In Quinte West and Brighton, Dr. Naeem Ullah Khan is already seeing patients at the Trenton-Brighton Medical Clinic, and Dr. Anastasia Dobrinski starts her family practice this May. Recruited through Docs by the Bay.
Need a family doctor? Register in person at 260 Dundas St. E, Trenton or 22 Dundas St., Brighton (no calls — phone lines are for urgent care).
🚑 Local EMS saves teen’s life in under 90 minutes
A Belleville mom took to Facebook to share a jaw-dropping story: her 13-year-old son, born with a heart defect, woke up with a heart rate of 200 beats per minute. EMS showed up in five minutes. He was in an ER bed with an IV in 20. His heart was back to a normal rhythm within 40. By 7:30 a.m., he was home. Safe. Healthy. Alive.
Massive kudos to Belleville EMS and the team at BGH for being the kind of people you hope you never need — but are so grateful for when you do.

Pop-Ups are back and the lineup is tasty
Pop-Ups on the Bay returns to West Zwick’s on May 29, and this year’s vendor list is stacked — Mustache Burger, Wavy’s dirty sodas, The Kiln’s paint-your-own pottery, and Grandpa Little Timmies (yes, that’s the real name). Local legends like Gator Fries and Taste of Ukraine are back too. Expect 18 food, drink, retail, and experience vendors every Wed–Sun (plus holiday Mondays) through Labour Day — full list here.
Where to Get Fish This Friday
Good Friday means lining up for the crispy stuff. Here’s where to get your fish & chips fix around the region:
Boathouse Seafood – Local favourite 12 years running. Classic waterfront spot in Belleville.
Piper Arms Belleville – Halibut & Chips or the Halibutwich, both $17. Pre-order available.
Piper Arms Trenton – Same menu, different view — also open for pre-orders.
Captain George’s Trenton – No-frills, reliable, and open until 8 p.m.
Coaches Pub & Grill, Picton – Good beer, good food, and we’re betting the fish is just as solid.
Get it while it’s hot — and don’t forget to call ahead. It’s gonna be busy.

Belleville Council Highlights 🏛️
🚗 How to make $1 million in 5 months
Belleville’s speed cameras pulled in over $1 million last year — in just five months. That’s $620K more than expected, and council’s now using that to cover a $759K budget shortfall from Hastings County.
Translation — if you got a ticket, you helped fund EMS, housing, and long-term care. Thanks for your service. They’re forecasting 61,000 tickets this year, so either Belleville’s full of speed demons or those cameras are stealthier than we thought.

Brighton gets in on the speed camera game
Brighton will launch its own Automated Speed Enforcement program with a 90-day warning period before cameras go live July 14 on Elizabeth Street. Tickets will be mailed, no demerit points — but your wallet might take a hit.
