⚽ Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup
Maybe you’ll see the next Alphonso Davies or Christine Sinclair this week? The 2024 Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup will be held in Quinte West from October 9-14, featuring top youth soccer teams from across Canada. This event should be a great boost for local tourism, youth soccer engagement and economic growth.
👩🏫 HPEDSB Focuses on Teacher Recruitment Amid Provincial Concerns
The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) is prioritizing recruitment to address potential teacher shortages. Despite provincial concerns, HPEDSB currently has adequate staffing. They focus on attracting new teachers, especially in French and Technology, through programs like Queen’s University’s Multi-Session Program. Information sessions for these programs are scheduled for October 8th and 9th. More here.

Curbside leaf and yard waste collection in Belleville will occur from October 21 to November 4 across different zones. For details on your zone and more information, visit Belleville.ca/YardWaste. Leaves can also be dropped off at 75 Wallbridge Cres., Monday to Saturday.

Prince Edward County fire departments will host open houses on Saturday to kick off Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 6 to 12.
