š® Heroic Officer Saves Woman from Fire
Belleville is honoring Sergeant Brad Stitt for his bravery in saving an elderly woman from a house fire on Thanksgiving Monday. Sgt. Stitt was the first to reach the fire on Purdy Street, where he found thick smoke and learned that a woman was trapped in the basement. He quickly went inside and brought her out safely. Firefighters arrived soon after and rescued another man from the house. Paramedics checked on both residents and Sgt. Stitt, who was treated for smoke inhalation at the hospital. The Ontario Fire Marshal is looking into what caused the fire, which badly damaged the house. Sgt. Stitt's brave actions have been praised, showing the dedication and courage of Belleville's emergency workers. Full story here.
