📬 Postal Strike Workarounds
Bet you thought you got away with one here. So did we. But nooope. Bills are still due (bahumbug). Here’s each municipality’s notice on that:
Belleville
Belleville will not mail water and supplemental property tax bills until services resume. Residents are encouraged to sign up for e-billing or contact the water billing team at 613-966-3657 and the taxation team at 613-967-3243 for bill reviews and payments. Bag and dog tags can be bought online but must be picked up at City Hall.
Quinte West
Avoid mailing payments and important documents to the City. Residents are encouraged to: Sign up for e-billing for property tax and water bills. Enroll in pre-authorized payments for property taxes and water accounts. For more information on payment options and delivery methods, please visit the City’s website.
The County
Prince Edward County advises residents to avoid mailing payments and documents. Payments for bills, fines, and parking tickets remain due. Options include in-person payments at Shire Hall, online payments via financial institutions, and e-billing for property tax and water/wastewater invoices. Planning, building, and licensing documents can be dropped off at the Development Services counter. For more details, visit the County’s website.

🏥 $67M Long-Term Care Facility Coming to Prince Edward County?
Prince Edward County is preparing to award a $67 million tender for a new long-term care facility. This project aims to provide essential services and support to the community's elderly residents. Check out the full story here.

🎟️ Support Military Families and Win Big! 
The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) has launched a province-wide 50/50 raffle. This initiative aims to raise funds to support military families, offering participants a chance to win significant prizes.

🚜❄️Name the Plow Contest!
Quinte West is inviting residents to come up with a name for a city snowplow. Submit your best ideas by December 8, 2024. The top three names will be featured on the plows, and winners will get a tour of the Public Works Operations Centre, including lunch and activities. 🍃Leaf & Yard Waste Depot Extended
Due to the warm weather, the Leaf & Yard Waste Depot will remain open until at least November 30. Further extensions are possible based on weather conditions. Go here for updates.

🚤 Trent Port Marina's Future
Quinte West is considering renewing the land lease for Trent Port Marina. This renewal is timely as the marina is set to undergo significant breakwater upgrades, enhancing its facilities and services for boating enthusiasts. The proposed lease amendment with TCS Realty Co. would extend the term to 25 years, with an option for an additional 25-year renewal. The breakwater replacement project was awarded to Kropf Industrial Inc. All the details are here.

🚂 CPKC Holiday Train in Belleville

The CPKC Holiday Train will visit Belleville and Trenton on this weekend. It will stop at Belleville's Keegan Parkway crossing from 9:30 to 10:00 AM and Trenton's Railway Crossing on R.C.A.F.
