🐝 Gooood morning everybody! We're back with the newsletter that discovered earlier this week that the margin for error in life is very small—tiny, in fact. Health Units Vote to Merge and Form South East Health Unit
The Health Units of Quinte Region, Kingston, and Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark are planning to merge into South East Public Health, pending final approval. If approved, the merger will start on January 1, 2025, enhancing services for over 550,000 residents. Dr. Piotr Oglaza will lead as Medical Officer of Health, with Dr. Ethan Toumishey and Dr. Linna Li as deputies. Full story.

Canada Increases GST/HST Credit for 2025
These next 2 articles aren’t exactly local, however, we thought some of you may want to know this kind of news. Canada is increasing the GST/HST Credit by 2.7% in 2025. Individuals can receive up to $349, while families can get up to $1,066 annually. Full breakdown here.

Ontario Trillium Benefit Payment Date
The Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) payment for December 2024 is set for Tuesday, December 10. Go here to find out more on the OTB payments.
