🗑️ Big Changes Coming to Belleville's Waste Collection Schedule

The scoop:
Starting July 21, Belleville is switching to same-day collection for all waste streams. Every household in the city will get their garbage, recycling, and organics picked up on one designated day each week, but your current collection day might change.

Why this matters to you:
- No more keeping track of different pickup days for different bins
- Simpler schedule means fewer missed collections
- Part of Ontario's new plan to make producers responsible for recycling costs (which could mean lower taxes long-term)

The details:
- Changes begin week of July 21
- Check your new collection day at portal.belleville.ca/gis/CurbsideWasteCollection/
- Part of provincial Blue Box regulation changes
- Shifts recycling costs from city to product manufacturers

What's next: Before July 21, visit the city's online portal to find your new collection day and mark your calendar. Set a reminder on your phone - you don't want to be the only house with bins out on the wrong day!
