 🚨Caught Red-Hoofed

Before we dive into today’s newsletter, we have something we need to show you. Yesterday we received a video from our community police services (below). 👷‍♂️Highway 401 Interchange: A Safer Highway and Economic Growth?

This is a hot topic for the community of Belleville - the recent accidents, the maximum speed increase, and now this. Premier Doug Ford has stated he will review the proposed Highway 401 interchange in Belleville, specifically how the project will be paid for. The interchange aims to improve traffic flow and safety on the highway. Local officials and residents have highlighted the project’s importance for economic growth and reduced congestion. The Intelligencer has the full story.

💧🧱$18.3M Investment in Prince Edward County

Premier Doug Ford announced an $18.3 million investment to build the Wellington Regional Water Treatment Plant in Prince Edward County. This new facility will replace the existing plants in Wellington and Picton, providing clean water and enabling the construction of nearly 4,000 new homes. The funding is part of the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund, which aims to support housing development by improving water infrastructure.

🧼🚤 Need Your Boat Cleaned?

It’s almost that time to hang up the lures and water ski’s, unfortunately. On the bright side, The County is launching a free boat cleaning station pilot project over the next two months at various boat launches. All watercrafts can carry invasive species that harm local ecosystems and disrupt activities like boating and fishing. Boaters are encouraged to use the station to prevent the spread of these species. In partnership with Quinte Conservation and the Invasive Species Centre, a CD3 Wayside Solar Trailer will be available at the following locations:

Rossmore Boat Launch: Sept. 9-14

Weller’s Bay Boat Launch: Sept. 14-19

Roblin Lake Boat Launch: Sept. 19-28

Wellington Rotary Beach Boat Launch: Sept. 28-Oct. 4

Northport Boat Launch: Oct. 4-15
