🐕🔥 Carl The Dog Saves Family From Fire
A Wellington family's dog, Carl, is hailed as a hero after saving their lives when a fire broke out on their back deck in Wellington. At 10:30 p.m., Prince Edward OPP and firefighters responded to the Niles Street home. Rob Garden shared that Carl's persistent barking woke him and his wife, Caitlin, just in time to find their sauna ablaze. They called 911, and emergency responders quickly extinguished the fire. Deputy Fire Chief Tim Kraemer confirmed no injuries and estimated the damage at $20,000. Rob expressed gratitude for Carl, Constable Gretzky, and the firefighters, emphasizing how lucky they were. Can someone please get Carl a really big bone? Full story on inquinte.

🎶 Avril Lavigne
A familiar voice came on my Spotify last week. It was none other than the pride of Napanee, Avril Lavigne. Nate Smith, the country music star, released a song featuring Avril on September 30th. She, of course, sounds absolutely incredible on this track! You can check it out here.

Business Spotlight

💇 The Salon
📍 Downtown Belleville
“The Salon” in downtown Belleville went up for sale last week for a cool $1.49 million. The rumour mill is that they may be joining the Memorial Marketplace.

That raises a question: who’s going to buy this location and what will it become? With 6,000 square feet of space, an upstairs with a luxurious living area, and a downstairs with endless possibilities, we want to know what types of businesses you'd like to see in downtown Belleville. Try out the new comments section we mentioned earlier! (Go to the top of the email and hit read online then scroll to the bottom to comment)

🛍️ Quinte Mall
It had been a long time since I’d been to the mall. Last week, we went on a boring, rainy day. A lot has changed in the past year or so. They’ve got new shops with quirky items, a storefront with basically just vending machines and claw games, and your typical seasonal shops for the holidays. Most of the vacancies that were around look like they’ve got new owners. One new storefront caught our eyes on the East side of the building. Oxygen Yoga & Fitness, set to open in January, is said to offer a variety of yoga and fitness fusion classes with FAR Infrared heat therapy. Their classes include Hot Yoga, Hot Barre Fusion, and more, designed for all fitness levels. They’ve got some early membership deals here. Sounds like a great addition to the Quinte Mall.

🏌️‍♂️💥 Endless Summer Long Drive Championship
What’s” long drive”. If you golf, or have ever watched it, think of the longest shot you’ve ever seen and then put another like 50-100 yards on it. Using specialized clubs, competitors have a set time to hit several balls, aiming to land them within a designated grid on the fairway. The highly anticipated Endless Summer Long Drive Championship, presented by Dibbits Landscape Supply, returns to Trillium Wood Golf Club on June 13-14, 2025. As Canada's premier long drive event and the only World Long Drive tour stop in the country, it will feature top male and female long drivers from around the globe. Tournament Director Jodie Jenkins promises an unforgettable experience.
